Troponin I test

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death globally.

  • More people die each year from cardiovascular disease than from any other disease.
  • In 2015, 422.7 million people worldwide were registered with cardiovascular diseases.
  • About 47% of unexpected CVD deaths outside of medical facilities indicate that people with CVD do not pay attention to symptoms in time.
  • Projections show that in 2030, 31.7% of deaths will be related to CVD.

How do I know my CVD risks?

Today, a new high-sensitivity test has been created - Troponin I.

Cardiac troponin I is a globular protein that participates in the contraction of myocardial muscle. Troponin indicates the risk of heart disease, allowing treatment to be adjusted and the development of risk reduced.  The high-sensitivity test of troponin I allows the assessment of the risk of myocardial infarction or other cardiovascular events months or even years before they occur.

For prevention purposes, it is recommended to perform the test for men and women over 30 years of age.
